In the<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong> <a style=\"color: #333399;\" href=\"https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/freedom-to-move-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first part we focused more on physical aspects<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, this one will focus more on other aspects&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Awareness &amp; Attention<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><i>Power flows where attention goes<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness and attention are two aspects of one element.<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Attention gushes\/flows out from awareness, similar to the way water gushes out from a spring.<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your awareness is the source of your power, attention is your power.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where you aim your attention, that is where your power flows &#8211; that&#8217;s where something happens.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You cannot be aware without attention, and you cannot pay attention without awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2442\" src=\"https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water.jpg 800w, https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/veda.one\/sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/New-York-Springs-Water-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of us really want the <\/span><b>attention of others.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Children want it from parents, we want from our partners and friends, it\u2019s the power which observers are giving to performers. The attention of others is also the power which is feeding our ego&#8230; We could buy the attention of others.\u00a0 We are often fighting or going to war for the attention of others\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attention can have a quality similar to water\u2026 Water can be focused strongly as a waterjet, which can easily cut through steel. It can flow smoothly like a river or flow like a shower\u2026 Water can expand as steam, or it can be everywhere in the air like invisible humidity\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attention can be used in any number if3 ways: to <\/span><b>think<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>move<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>feel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>observe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>visualise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>flow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>play<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to<\/span><b> recall<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>pray<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to <\/span><b>heal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each task needs a different tool: a different set of awareness and a different quality of attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Focused &amp; Expanded<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our awareness and attention are not so straightforward;\u00a0 we cannot simply deposit them into a dual system. In order to explain it, we simplify them in a spectrum between focused and expanded awareness, from which gush forth focused and expanded attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nowadays, when we use the term \u2018attention\u2019, we usually mean \u2018<\/span><b>focused attention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019&#8230;<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Focused awareness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; logical thinking is a great tool for tactics, plans and strategy, but not the best tool for initial reactions. In focused awareness, we perceive the world in a more <\/span><b>linear <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fashion, <\/span><b>\u00a0in fragments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Focused awareness is analysing <\/span><b>past <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and planning for the <\/span><b>future<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><b>expanded awareness <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we are not thinking, we just <\/span><b>flow at the moment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Therefore we are <\/span><b>more sensitive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we process<\/span><b> information quicker from<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> our senses (we feel more and see kinetic energy, rhythm, we have better spatial awareness), we, therefore, can be more effective at <\/span><b>multitasking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Our reactions are quicker, natural &#8211; more <\/span><b>instinctive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It demands a lot of attention. Active reactions are planned, they, therefore, are delayed and broken. In an active mode, it is much harder to <\/span><b>accept <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">things which were not planned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>passive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> spontaneous<\/span><b> reaction <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is usually created by <\/span><b>expanded awareness, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">subconsciously, by the intelligence of the body, making more use of the reptilian<\/span><b>\u00a0brain.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passive reactions are not planned it, therefore, allows us to <\/span><b>accept <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">things which weren&#8217;t planned. We have to reach a certain level of passivity to be able to <\/span><b>harmonise <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>synchronise with<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> randomly changing surroundings. A passive reaction doesn&#8217;t demand a lot of attention, but is much quicker, smoother and is more precise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The passive reaction is created without <\/span><b>intention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Active &amp; Passive Movements\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NUE624jOALM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Focussed age<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In today\u2019s civilisation, we are working much more with focused attention, e.g. we are making plans, reading, writing, thinking, analysing, watching TV etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is important to achieve a <strong>balance<\/strong> in order to spend more time in expanded awareness. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just to let our attention passively flow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Expansion and focused awareness are different tools. The first step, to be free to use the right tool for each task, is to be able to <\/span><b>switch <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">between expanded and focused awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>In or out<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our attention can flow into any part of our bodies&#8230; To the head, the heart, the tan-tien, hand, finger, hair, organs etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, our attention can also flow out. It can flow to a shouting man, a flying ball, to hear music, to smell the wine, to taste the food, to feel structure and temperature of the skin, wind in the hair etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Consciousness<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paradoxically, we are not fully aware of where our attention flows, because a lot of our awareness attention flows somewhere, <\/span><b>subconsciously<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Even when we are sleeping, we still have some awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our awareness and attention usually flow somewhere between the <\/span><b>conscious <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the <\/span><b>subconscious<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We can <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">control<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the depth of our focus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Training<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To know thyself is important. In addition to static meditation, practice <\/span><b>dynamic meditations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where you haven\u2019t any plan, you just enjoy the moment, your body and mind just passively flow&#8230;<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Awareness of movement <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can be developed to a depth or spread to multitasking.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Awareness of movement allows you to move <\/span><b>quicker<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; be more <\/span><b>precise <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>efficient<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a deeper awareness <\/span><b>time flows relatively slower<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; you can take in and process more information, and do more things at the same time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can<\/span><b> observe your awareness, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and where it directs and channels your attention, but to observe your awareness also demands some of your attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can work with the <\/span><b>attention of others<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Your view is narrower. Your attention flows to the point.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With (expanded) <\/span><b>peripheral vision<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> everything is a bit blurred, but your view is much wider. Your attention expands &#8211; you are able to work with more perceptions\/impulses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Focused vision is good when you need to focus on one thing (e.g. one arm, one ball or one body). The problem arises when you try, with a focused vision to keep track of more than one object e.g. 3 limbs, 8 balls or a crowd of people. Peripheral vision is much more suitable for <\/span><b>multitasking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
