The path to freedom begins with realising which rules I want to live by!
We are defining the rules—Natural Rights could be agreed upon by 99% of people as the foundation of a Free World.
I refuse to act against my personal beliefs, conscience, or faith.
I cannot physically harm others by not acting, although it may have consequences (e.g., social exclusion).
Can I force you to act against your beliefs?
I have the right to act according to my personal beliefs, conscience, and faith as long as I do not physically harm others.
I have the right to decide how I treat my body and health.
I have the right and responsibility to co-decide how we live at every social level (family, community, state, planet).
Can I forbid you from acting in line with your beliefs?
Can I impose my views on how you should care for your health?
A lower level of organisation holds greater authority.
Subsidiarity is a principle of social organisation that holds that social and political issues should be dealt with at the most immediate or local level consistent with their resolution. A central authority should have a subsidiary function, performing only those tasks which cannot be performed at a more local level.
The goal is to maintain autonomy within smaller communities (individuals, villages, regions, states) and prevent the centralisation of power.
A free society is self-governance from below—not a “tyranny of the majority”!
Can a municipality dictate how you live in your family?
Can a district, region, or state dictate how we live in our community?
Can the EU or a global institution dictate how we live in our state?
I have the right to a free Earth. Humans did not create the Earth’s surface, so no one has the right to claim ownership of it!
People may have a natural right to use land (their territory) where they live and cultivate. However, no one should own the ground beneath another’s feet (an artificial social construct).
This can also include shared (common) usage rights.
Even Mother Earth has the right to be free. It is time to stop treating her as a servant as if she were mere property!
Can someone claim ownership of the entire Earth and demand rent from other people?
Personal ownership is enough for me to have a happy and creative life.
I do not desire private ownership because I am not a parasite. I am a creator.
Personal ownership means possessing oneself, one’s living space, and the things one uses. This can include shared (common) personal ownership.
Examples include one’s body, clothing, food, car, home, factory, shop, forest, or land.
Private ownership means claiming control over another person’s body, living space, or what they use.
Private ownership of a human body is called slavery.
Private ownership of living space is hidden slavery.
Can someone exploit ownership as a weapon and rob you of the results of your creation?
I have the right to physically defend myself if the above rights are denied.
Do you have the right to resist oppression, or must you obediently stay silent and compliant?
I uphold and respect these rights in others.
I understand that if I do not respect them, someone stronger may take them from me.
My freedom ends where yours begins.
Do my rights apply equally to you as they do to me?
PS: Reflect on them and share your thoughts. Feel free to suggest additions. I could publish your personal statement on this page.
